Awards Program and Field Day with Luna

My granddaughter, Luna, was glad to receive her folder of awards after completing the first grade. We celebrated by taking her to brunch after the awards program at her school.

Where did the time go? Goodbye first grade! My granddaughter, Luna (whose blog is Best Life Luna), is marching on to second grade(above photo, she is third left to right). We recently attended Luna's awards program at school, where she received several honors. We cheered for her and all of her classmates as they marched one by one across the stage to shake hands with their teachers and receive their hard-earned awards

We had a great time watching the kids as they squirmed in their seats, their eyes searching for parents, grandparents and other family members and friends in the packed audience. Luna received a bouquet of flowers from her mom and we all went out to eat for a celebration after the program.

Left to right: Luna is the 5th student pulling that rope. Her team won the Tug of War contest!

Had a great time snapping photos at the school’s Field Day, which was held during the week leading up to the graduation awards program.

Luna and her school mates competed in an array of races during Field Day, testing their strength, speed and ability to follow instructions. The indoor and outdoor competitions included tug of war, a pizza delivery contest, bean bag toss, fitness Tic Tac Toe, jumbo Connect 4 and other games.
