We surprised my mom-in-law, Juliette, on Valentine’s Day with a bouquet of red roses and other gifts during a tea at the new East DeKalb Senior Center in Lithonia, GA. Mom was wearing a big smile—the same one she continues to wear as a determined cancer survivor. She was so excited to introduce us as her special guests. Many of the seniors were dressed in red for the big day and they were excited that Val and I also wore red to celebrate with them. Mom gave us a beautiful handmade card that was the handiwork of one of her peers at the center. We heard all about their classes and their activities during our visit. This is a place they are proud to have in the community. We had a great time fellowshipping with them!
